Our Earth Tomorrow was formed in January, 2020 and was formally registered in 2020.
Particularly in Africa, there is a misconception and a misdirection that Government must take absolute care of the environment and find solutions to all environmental and sanitation challenges. In Ghana, despite the possible inputs of the government, very little successes have been achieved so far as sanitation related diseases such as cholera, malaria and typhoid still remain major health issues. The issue of flood related disasters seem to be an annual affair tormenting the lives of Ghanaians in every rainy season.
Our Earth Tomorrow is an organization committed and determined to erase the misconception, misdirection and negative attitude towards the environment through a local based, all-inclusive environmental education that will place the local communities in charge of their own environment. We all need to know our environmental rights and put them into action to protect, sustain and create the future earth we all want to have. It is therefore expedient we also know about our environmental responsibilities and put them into practice to protect the environmental resources for today and the future. We are guided by the values of community volunteerism, love for environmental conservation and defense, accountability, transparency, and empowerment.
Our Earth Tomorrow sees the local people and communities as the core sector that can really change the future fortunes of our present environment and therefore seeks to empower them through training and education which will greatly influence their attitudes towards the environment.
Our Earth Tomorrow’s approach to raising environmental awareness is based on the 1992 UN Conference on Environment and Development which gave birth to the Rio Declaration and its 27 International Law Principles that guide the International Community in its efforts to achieve Sustainable Development.
